Follow these steps if you’re experiencing a dental emergency. Our emergency dentist in Wyoming, MI, and his team are ready to help!

1. Call Our Office at (616) 532-9003

Call our office and we’ll schedule you for emergency dental care. When you call, we’ll ask you to describe your emergency and give you instructions to follow until you’re able to see our dentist.

Common dental emergencies include:

  • Severe toothache
  • Abscess or pimple on the gums
  • Loose adult tooth
  • Knocked-out tooth
  • Object caught between teeth
  • Cracked or broken tooth
  • Painful chipped tooth
  • Mouth sores
  • Red and/or white patches inside the mouth
  • Extreme tooth sensitivity to heat and cold

If you’re unsure if you have a dental emergency, please call our office anyways. We’ll be able to advise you on your next steps to regain your oral health.

While some emergencies require immediate attention (like a knocked-out tooth), you may be able to wait until the next opening in our schedule for other situations. For example, you may be able to wait a few days if you have a small chip in your tooth that’s not causing any pain.

Each patient is different, which is why it’s important to call our office to determine what restorative dental care you need.

2. Complete Our New Patient Forms

If this is your first appointment with us, you’ll need to fill out our new patient forms:

Please bring these forms with you so we can expedite the check-in process.

3. Meet Our Emergency Dentist

When you arrive at our office, Dr. Langellier will ask you questions about your symptoms, examine the inside of your mouth, and possibly take X-rays.

All this information will help him diagnose the source of your dental pain. From there, he’ll be able to recommend a treatment plan to restore your oral health.

Our team will make sure that you have all the facts you need to make an informed decision. This includes talking about treatment options, cost comparisons, and financing options.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions of Dr. Langellier and his team. We are here to support you and make sure you get the urgent dental care you need.

4. Get Urgent Dental Care

Dr. Langellier will make sure that your treatment is comfortable and painless. He’ll also make sure that you understand what we’re doing and why. That way, you know what to expect during each step of the treatment plan.

We always want to ensure that our patients feel safe and comfortable in the dentist’s chair.

Once we’re done with your initial treatment, we may also give you after-care instructions to follow at home so you can heal and recover as soon as possible.

5. Pay in Full or Explore Financing Options

Payment is expected in full at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance. For your convenience, we offer a variety of payment options including cash, personal check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

We also offer financing options through Compassionate™ Finance and CareCredit®.

Ultimately, the cost of your urgent dental care will depend on what type of treatment you need.

6. Schedule Any Future Appointments

Depending on your restorative treatment plan, we may need to schedule other appointments so you can get the full care you need. For example, you may need to return to our office to get a permanent dental crown from the lab.

Our compassionate front desk staff will be sure to find a time that works for you.
